Got the car back yesterday – we’re all set! The bill came to $300.36 and included an oil change, the removal of a heat shield (the cause of the rattling at 25 m.p.h.), overall inspection of the car for the 4,000+ miles we’re going to put on it, the change of brake fluid which was causing a vibration when making sharp turns, and the 60,000 maintance Honda recommends. So, all-in-all, not too bad of a deal.
For those in the Chicagoland area, if you need a good mechanic, I recommend the Fulton and Desplaines Garage right in the West Loop. They’re honest and easy to work with.
We went to Target and Sports Authority last night, picked up the last supplies we needed (including hiking boots). I cleaned the car this morning and we’re going to pack the car up tonight. Can’t believe it’s almost time to leave!
